WH Questions: Who, where, why, what, when, and how
UNITY:
each paragraph has only one idea and one idea only. Moreover, each paragraph has a topic sentence, which serves as a contract to the reader…[topic sentence = contract]
COHERENCE:
the entire paper is commanded by a logical format that uses coherent transitions to unify the main ideas... Thesis statement = of the entire paper or work
Reader responsible = stereotype Chinese more “vague” because it leaves more to the reader’s imagination and the reader must play and active part in the comprehension of the text at hand. vs.
Writer responsible = the writer must be sure to place a number of “sign posts” for the reader to follow so that s/he can “digest” the text rapidly and efficiently.
AVOID USING FIRST PERSON… AND NEVER USE CONTRACTIONS (I’m, can’t, won’t) [con+ tract+ion]… AND PLEASE DON’T BEGIN SENTENCES FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so); coordinating conjuctions: however, therefore, thus, moreover, nevertheless,

topic:Parents are the best teachers
Who teaches you speak? Who teaches you walk? It is your parents who teach you to do these basic things in your life. So don’t you think that parents are the best teachers?
Firstly, our parents begin teaching us the moment we are born, and what they teach us in those early years are the most important things we can learn. They teach us what is important in our own culture and how to get along with other people. Of course, they teach us language and many other practical skills, and teach us how to be independent and how to learn as well.
Secondly, parents are always teaching us whether we realize it or not. They teach both in words and by example. In addition, our parents are devoted teachers who always want the best for us. Their only motivation for teaching us is to prepare us for a good life in the future. No one wants our success more than they do.
All in all, throughout our lives we will learn from many people, for there is something that we can learn from everyone we meet. However, no teacher can take the place of our parents because they are our most devoted and best teachers who have our best interests at heart.
